About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and reliable Entry-Level Trade Assistant to join our growing painting team in Toowoomba.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start a career in the painting and construction industry while working alongside experienced painters on a variety of residential, commercial, and education projects.
Painting assistants commonly support surface preparation, protect work areas, move materials, and assist qualified painters in office.
No previous painting experience is required—just a strong work ethic, a willingness to learn, and a positive attitude.
Key Responsibilities
Assist qualified painters with daily tasks.
Prepare surfaces by sanding, filling, masking, and cleaning.
Protect work areas using drop sheets and masking materials.
Load, unload, and move tools, equipment, and materials.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organised worksite.
Follow safe work practices and company procedures.
Work on residential, commercial, and school facilities as required.
Essential Requirements
Current C Class Driver Licence.
Current White Card.




Current Working with Children (Blue Card) or the ability to obtain one, as some work may be undertaken in schools or other child-related environments where a Blue Card is required.
Physically fit and capable of manual labour.
Reliable, punctual, and willing to learn.
Ability to work well in a team.
Desirable
Previous labouring, construction, landscaping, or painting experience.
Experience using basic hand and power tools.
EWP, Working at Heights, or other construction tickets (advantageous but not essential).
