About the Role
As a HSE Advisor, you will play a key role in promoting a strong safety culture across our construction operations.
Working closely with, subcontractors, site supervisors and construction management, you will provide practical health, safety and environmental support, ensure compliance with legislation and company standards, and drive continuous improvement through site inspections, training, incident investigations and proactive risk management.
You will have previous experience in a Health & Safety advisor role within the construction industry, and your key responsibilities will include:

Key Duties and Responsibilities
Conduct daily HSE site inspections on single and double storey residential homes.
Identify, address and follow up on safety non-compliances in a timely manner.
Pro-active safety engagements with sub‐contractors and provide onsite Toolbox Talks as required.
Provide ongoing HSE advice, support and mentoring to construction personnel, including Building Supervisors, Service & Warranty Officers and Area Building Managers.
Review subcontractor Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS) to ensure compliance with legislative and company requirements
Lead or support workplace incident investigations, including gathering facts, obtaining statements from relevant parties, identifying root causes, and recommending corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Manage the timely response and close‐out of regulator notices.
Maintain proactive and professional engagement with WorkSafe QLD and local authorities.
Deliver safety induction training for new Building Supervisors
Attend Construction Team meetings to discuss topical HSE matters and present team‐specific safety performance reports.
Support workers' compensation and return‐to‐work processes, as required
Skills & Experience
Minimum Cert IV in Workplace Health and Safety
Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar role
Industry (building and construction) exposure essential
Construction Induction Card (White Card) essential
Scaffolding knowledge preferred
Excellent communication skills - ability to converse effectively with a variety of different contractors, staff and managers, and external personnel
Excellent time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
Strong attention to detail and computer literacy.
Full unencumbered driver's licence
