About position
The SAP Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) Consultant is responsible for analysing business requirements, and designing, configuring and implementing SAP EAM solutions that optimise asset management and maintenance processes for clients operating in asset-intensive industries.
The role partners with business stakeholders to maximise asset reliability, reduce maintenance costs and support digital transformation through effective SAP EAM solutions, while ensuring project delivery meets quality standards, timelines and client requirements.
Responsibilities
Consult with clients, users and stakeholders to understand organisational objectives, operational requirements and asset management needs.
Identify, investigate and analyse business processes, procedures and work practices to determine inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement.
Define, document and validate functional requirements for SAP solutions supporting asset management and maintenance operations, and recommend process improvements and system enhancements.
Design, configure and implement SAP Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) solutions aligned with operational requirements and industry best practice, including asset structures, functional locations, equipment records, maintenance notifications, work orders, preventive and corrective maintenance processes, maintenance plans and maintenance strategies.
Develop functional specifications, data and process models, system documentation and process maps to support SAP solution design, configuration and development.
Collaborate with technical consultants,
developers and project teams to deliver integrated SAP solutions that meet business requirements and technical standards.
Apply project management methodologies, principles and techniques to develop project plans, estimate costs, allocate resources and manage SAP EAM implementation activities to achieve project milestones and deadlines.
Develop and execute test plans, including unit, integration and user acceptance testing (UAT), and coordinate data migration, master data validation, system deployment and go-live activities.
Prepare user documentation, business process documentation and training materials, and deliver formal training to end users.
Provide post-implementation support, troubleshoot functional issues and monitor SAP EAM processes and performance to identify improvements.
Act as a central functional reference point throughout project delivery, liaising with clients, users, project managers, developers and cross-functional teams to ensure solutions meet requirements, quality standards and project objectives.
Skills and Qualifications required to perform the above job role
Tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Information Systems or a related discipline.
SAP certification or relevant SAP EAM/PM training is highly regarded.
Minimum of 5 years' experience implementing and supporting SAP Enterprise Asset Management (SAP EAM/PM) solutions.
Strong business analysis skills, with the ability to identify business requirements, analyse processes and develop functional specifications, process models, documentation and test plans.
Experience in project management, with robust analytical, problem-solving and organisational skills, and the ability to oversee the implementation of complex IT projects.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with technical teams, business stakeholders
