Our long-serving Production Manager is moving on, so we're looking for someone to take over the running of our main facility.This is a hands-on leadership role.
You'll own the day-to-day execution of production and logistics, keeping work moving through the workshop and out the door on time.
You won't be setting the schedule from scratch or carrying the commercial side; that sits with our Operations Manager.
Your job is to make the plan happen, and to keep a workforce of around 80 people pulling in the same direction while you do it.We're a business built on a "Making it Happen" mindset.
The people who do well here are the ones who take ownership, sort problems out rather than pass them up, and back the team around them.What the role involvesRunning production across our main production facility so work is fabricated to spec and finished on timeManaging dispatch, delivery scheduling, transport and inbound material receiptingLeading the supervisors and leading hands, and setting the daily priorities for the floorKeeping an eye on capacity and flagging labour shortfalls or overruns before they biteSupporting our HSEQ Officer to keep safety front of mind,



through toolbox talks and the day-to-day habits that actually prevent incidentsProviding oversight of our Depot Street siteHandling purchasing within production scope, and the performance conversations that come with leading a teamWhat we're afterYou've managed a production or fabrication floor before, ideally for five years or more.
A trade background is a big plus, particularly in structural steel or a related metal trade, though we care more about whether you can run a workshop than about the certificate on the wall.Beyond that, you'll know your way around a steel ERP and scheduling software (we run Strumis) and be comfortable in Outlook, Word and Excel.
You'll be someone who plans ahead, holds a line on deadlines, and can talk to anyone from the shop floor to the boardroom without changing who you are.If you've worked across both the factory and site sides of fabrication, even better.What's on offerA permanent role with a market-competitive salary, superannuation and a company vehicle.
