Connect Community and Respite Services – Penshurst NSWConnect Community and Respite Services is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Disability Support Worker to join our team in Penshurst, NSW.
This is a casual position that offers flexibility whilst making a meaningful difference in the lives of people with disabilities.
As a Disability Support Worker, you will provide essential support and assistance to individuals with varying disabilities, helping them achieve greater independence, dignity and quality of life.
This role is fundamental to our mission of delivering person-centred care and support within the community.What you'll be doingProviding personal care assistance including bathing, grooming, dressing and toileting supportSupporting clients with mobility and transferring safely using appropriate techniques and equipmentAssisting with meal preparation, feeding and dietary support as requiredAccompanying clients to medical appointments, social outings and community activitiesSupporting clients with daily living tasks including shopping, housekeeping and laundryDeveloping and maintaining positive relationships with clients and their families based on trust and respectMaintaining accurate and confidential records of support provided and client wellbeingCommunicating effectively with supervisors, team members and other professionals to ensure coordinated carePromoting client independence and encouraging participation in chosen activities and community engagementResponding to client needs with empathy whilst respecting their preferences, choices and dignityWhat we're looking forCertificate III in Disability, Aged Care Support or equivalent qualification, or willingness to obtain this qualificationCurrent First Aid and CPR certification or willingness to obtain prior to commencingExcellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build rapport with diverse individualsDemonstrated compassion,
