Primary objective
Provide para-professional support in the daily operations of the Collections and Discovery (C&D;) team and work
collaboratively with other library staff to ensure NT Health Library Services offers a best practice library and information
service to all NT Health staff and affiliated health professionals.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Contribute to the ongoing development of the NT Health digital repository

through the regular upload of new research articles, conference papers and posters.
2. Assist in the delivery of the library's Resource Delivery (RD) service,
including liaising with other libraries, searching
library databases for relevant resources, and supplying books and articles to NT Health staff.
3. Undertake regular rostered shifts on the information desk, performing general reference, circulation, and IT
troubleshooting duties.
4. Support strategic library projects by participating in project working groups and undertaking tasks as required.
5. Follow defined service quality standards, work health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being
undertaken in order to ensure high quality, secure services and workplaces.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Successful completion of a Library Technician qualification recognised by the Australian Library and Information
Association (ALIA).
2. Demonstrated experience in the use of institutional digital repositories, including metadata and collection management.
3. Demonstrated experience in delivering inter-library loan / resource delivery services.
4. Demonstrated experience in providing high quality customer service, including responding to reference queries,
searching library catalogues and specialist databases to meet client information needs, and assisting clients with basic IT
troubleshooting.
5. Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a member of a busy, client focused team.
Desirable
1. Experience in a health library setting.
