function
About the position
Are you an experienced risk management professional who enjoys
influencing strategic outcomes and driving continuous
improvement?
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced leader to
join the Office of the CEO as Coordinator Risk Management.
Reporting to the General Counsel, you will lead the City's Risk
Management function and play a key role in strengthening
governance, control assurance and enterprise risk practices across
the organisation.
This is a strategic leadership role where you will partner with
senior leaders to embed a proactive risk culture, develop
contemporary risk management frameworks and ensure the City is well
positioned to achieve its corporate objectives.
About the Role
In this role you will:
• Lead and develop the Risk Management team, fostering a positive,
collaborative and high-performing culture.
• Provide strategic advice to the CEO, General Counsel and
Leadership Team on enterprise risk management.
• Develop, implement and continuously improve the City's risk
management framework, policies and practices.
• Design and deliver the City's Control Assurance Program using a
risk-based approach.
• Identify emerging risks and recommend practical mitigation
strategies that support organisational objectives.
• Lead business improvement initiatives and promote a culture of
continuous improvement.
• Prepare high-quality reports and provide expert advice to a range
of internal and external stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, governance
requirements and best practice risk management
principles.
About you
You are an experienced risk management professional with strong
leadership skills and the ability to influence and build effective
relationships across all levels of an organisation.
You will also have:




• Significant experience in enterprise risk management within a
large and complex organisation.
• Demonstrated experience leading teams and driving organisational
change.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and influencing
skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with experience
developing strategic solutions.
• Extensive knowledge of governance, compliance and relevant
legislation.
• Certified Practising Risk Manager (CPRM) qualification, or the
experience required to obtain membership with the Risk Management
Institute of Australasia (RMIA).
• Local Government experience will be highly regarded.
