About the Role
Reporting to the Director of Boarding, the
Boarding House Driver
plays an important role in supporting the safety, wellbeing and day-to-day operations of our Boarding House.
This position is responsible for providing safe and reliable transport for boarding students to and from school activities, appointments and other approved destinations.
Beyond driving, you will be a valued member of the Boarding House team, building positive relationships with students and providing practical support to boarding staff when required.
This is a
casual, term-time role
, with work occurring primarily:
predominately Friday evenings (approximately 5.00 pm – ***** pm)
Some Sundays
Occasional weekday evenings and Saturday daytime shifts
Additional shifts may be available to support boarder arrivals, departures and other Boarding House activities throughout the year.
Key Responsibilities
Safely transport boarding students and authorised staff to approved destinations.
Operate College vehicles in accordance with WA road rules and PLC policies.
Ensure the safety and wellbeing of students during transport.
Maintain appropriate student supervision and behaviour while travelling.
Conduct routine pre-drive vehicle checks and report any maintenance or safety concerns.
Keep vehicles clean, tidy and fuelled.




Communicate with Boarding staff regarding transport schedules and student movements.
Provide general assistance to the Boarding House team where required.
Foster positive relationships with students and contribute to a welcoming boarding environment.
About You
You are reliable, approachable and safety-focused, with a genuine interest in supporting young people.
You enjoy working in a school setting and understand the importance of professionalism, flexibility and duty of care.
You are equally comfortable driving students safely and assisting the Boarding House team to provide a positive experience for boarders.
Essential Requirements
Current Manual LR Driver's Licence
Current PTD (Passenger Transport Driver) Authorisation (or willingness to obtain)
Current Working with Children Check
Current National Police Clearance
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Reliable, punctual and professional approach
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Commitment to student safety and wellbeing
Alignment with the vision and values of PLC
Experience transporting passengers or driving larger vehicles.
Desirable
Experience working with young people in a school, sporting or community setting.
Current First Aid Certificate.
