Street Connect is a low barrier, assertive outreach and case management service for young people aged ******* years who are rough sleeping and experiencing or at risk of homelessness.
We provide proactive engagement, connection, support and referral to young people in the inner City via the Street Connect Bus, and intensive case management across the metro area.
We are looking for our next Youth Worker who loves working within a small team, getting out and about doing assertive outreach, and providing exceptional case management to young people with diverse backgrounds and experiences
This is a permanent full-time (1.0 FTE - 37.5 hours per week) position based in Leederville, WA.
Your role will be a unique combination of outreach on the Street Connect Bus and case management across the metro area, with our office based in Leederville.
The operating hours of program are between 8 am and 8 pm Monday to Friday.
Typically, 7.5-hour shifts but can be negotiable for the right candidate.
We are currently out on outreach on Monday to 7pm and Friday to 6 pm.
About you
You will use your skills, understanding, and experience in providing a person-centered, strength-based approach in working alongside a diverse group of young people experiencing a unique set of circumstances and complexities.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Tertiary or Diploma level qualification in relevant Youth Work or Human Services discipline, combined with significant skills and experience in youth work and / or people experiencing homelessness.
Ability to engage and build strong, professional working relationships with young people with complex and co-occurring needs
Case management experience, safety planning, assessment and crisis intervention skills.




Strong understanding or experience providing an outreach service to street present young people
Up to date knowledge of resources and services within the youth and homelessness sector.
Understanding of the challenges young people who are at risk of homelessness or homeless are experiencing.
Commitment to working in a positive team environment.
You must possess a current National Police Clearance valid within one year, a WA Working with Children Check, a Senior First Aid certificate, WA Drivers Licence with a willingness to obtain an MR bus licence within the probationary period (Note: cost of MR Bus licence to be covered by the organisation).
A police record is not an automatic barrier to employment with us.
The organisation may seek to request an international police clearance if necessary.

Salary packaging of up to $15,900 (which equates to circa $4K after tax) plus additional salary packaging of up to $2,650 for meal and entertainment expenses
