About the role
We are seeking a
Hospitality Services Assistant
to join our friendly team at
Mater Private Hospital Mackay
in a
casual position.
This role plays a vital part in supporting the day-to-day hospitality operations of the hospital, helping to create a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and staff.

Salary range: $***** - $***** per hour
plus superannuation
and

What you'll be doing
You will support the smooth operation of hospital hospitality services across multiple areas, including housekeeping, catering, linen, and waste management.
Deliver high-quality housekeeping services in line with hospital policies and standards
Assist with food preparation, delivery, and service while following food safety guidelines
Collect, distribute, sort, and manage clean and soiled linen safely
Dispose of and transport general and clinical waste in accordance with safety procedures
Use equipment safely, report faults promptly, and apply risk management practices
Contribute to a safe, tidy, and welcoming hospital environment
Work collaboratively with the hospitality team to support patient and consumer satisfaction
About you
You are a reliable and positive team member who takes pride in delivering quality service in a healthcare environment.
Previous experience in a hospitality, housekeeping, or similar role
Experience working in a healthcare environment is desirable




Certificate II in Hospitality (or equivalent) is desirable
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Sound understanding of hygiene, safety, and infection control principles
Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks
Friendly communication style and ability to engage with a wide range of people
