About the Role
Paradise Village (SA) is seeking a reliable, experienced, and passionate Cook to join our team.
In this role, you will be responsible for preparing nutritious, high-quality meals for our residents while ensuring compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.
You will play a key role in supporting the health, wellbeing, and satisfaction of residents through the provision of fresh and enjoyable meals.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare, cook, and present nutritious meals in accordance with approved menus.
Accommodate special dietary requirements, allergies, cultural preferences, and texture-modified diets.
Ensure all food preparation, storage, and serving practices comply with Food Safety Standards and HACCP requirements.
Maintain accurate food safety records and documentation and actively participate in internal and external audits to ensure ongoing compliance with Food Safety Standards, HACCP requirements, and organisational policies.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of kitchen, equipment, and food preparation areas.
Monitor food supplies and stock levels and assist with ordering and inventory control.
Minimise food wastage and ensure efficient use of supplies.
Work collaboratively with management and support staff to meet residents' dietary needs.
Deliver consistently high standards of food quality and customer service.
Adhere to workplace health and safety policies and infection control procedures.




Essential Requirements
Certificate III in Commercial Cookery.
Minimum 1 year experience as a Cook
Current Food Safety Certificate.
HACCP Certification or demonstrated experience working under HACCP principles.
Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and safe food handling practices.
Excellent organisational and time management skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Current National Police Check or willingness to obtain one.
Australian working rights.
Desirable Requirements
Experience working in aged care, disability services, residential care, or healthcare settings.
Knowledge of texture-modified diets and specialised nutrition requirements.
Experience catering for large groups and menu planning.
Availability
Applicants must be available to work a flexible roster, including:
Weekdays
Weekends
Public Holidays
Occasional evening shifts
