Reporting to the General Manager – Operations, the Farm Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management of all farming activities, ensuring crops are grown, maintained, and harvested efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards.
This is a hands-on leadership role requiring someone who enjoys being out in the field, leading teams, solving problems, and driving performance through effective planning and execution.
Key Responsibilities:
· Lead and manage all farm operations across planting, irrigation, crop maintenance, harvesting, and land preparation activities.
Manage and develop farm teams to achieve operational and production targets.
Coordinate labour, equipment, and resources to maximise productivity and efficiency.
Monitor crop performance and implement strategies to optimise yield and quality.
Ensure compliance with all workplace health and safety requirements.
Manage irrigation programs and water usage to support crop performance.
Work closely with production, logistics, maintenance, and planning teams to ensure seamless operations.
Oversee machinery and equipment utilisation and collaborate with maintenance teams to ensure equipment reliability.
Monitor farm costs and assist with budget management and cost control initiatives.
Drive continuous improvement across farming practices, productivity, quality,



and sustainability.
Maintain accurate operational records and reporting.
Foster a positive, accountable, and high-performing team culture.
To be successful for this role you will have the following skills/experience:
Proven experience managing farming or horticultural operations.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams.
Excellent planning, organisational, and problem-solving abilities.
A hands-on approach with a strong work ethic.
The ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Minimum 5 years' experience in a Farm Manager, Assistant Farm Manager, Production Manager, or similar agricultural leadership role.
Experience in fresh produce, horticulture, vegetable production, or intensive farming operations.
Sound understanding of crop production, irrigation systems, labour management, and farm operations.
Experience managing seasonal workforces and operational planning.
Current driver's licence.
