The program provides case management, housing support, financial hardship support and, in some cases, funded crisis accommodation.
The role has a strong operational focus, including case oversight, referral allocation, quality assurance, staff supervision,
stakeholder engagement, financial approvals and compliance with service delivery requirements.
This is primarily a leadership and operational oversight role, with a small caseload held as part of a broader multidisciplinary team.
The role reports to the Wellbeing Manager, Veteran Services and is accountable for leading Housing Support Practitioners within the broader wellbeing team.
The position includes leadership across multiple locations, regular case reviews, monitoring caseloads, ensuring compliance, stakeholder collaboration and oversight of case plans and expenditure.Key responsibilitiesIn this role, you will:Lead, coach and support Housing Support Practitioners across multiple locationsProvide supervision, case reviews and guidance on complex mattersReview referrals and allocate work across the teamMonitor caseloads, workload, risks and team capacitySupport client-centred, strengths-based housing support and case managementReview and approve case plans, financial assistance and support requestsEnsure accurate documentation, case notes and compliance within client systemsBuild strong relationships with internal teams, community organisations, government bodies and specialist housing providersSupport team culture, performance, engagement and qualified developmentContribute to service improvement, process development and consistent practice standardsAbout youYou will bring a strong combination of people leadership, case management experience and operational discipline.
You may come from housing, homelessness, community services, mental health, family support, domestic and family violence,
AOD, veteran services or another complex case management environment.
You do not need to have worked in veteran services before.
What matters is your ability to lead a team, work within structured service delivery requirements, manage competing priorities and support people through complex and sensitive circumstances.You will bringA degree in Human Services, Health Sciences, Social Work, Psychology, Counselling or a related disciplineEligibility for registration or professional membership with a relevant body such as AASW, AHPRA or PACFA2–3+ years' experience in a Team Leader, Senior Practitioner, Senior Case Manager or similar leadership role (ideally lead a remote multi-state team)Strong experience in person-centred and strengths-based case managementDemonstrated ability to lead, mentor and motivate staffStrong attention to detail, documentation and complianceSound judgement when working with complex or sensitive client situationsAbility to work within policies, procedures, legislative requirements and budget parametersStrong stakeholder engagement and communication skillsA Queensland C Class driver's licenceFlexibility to travel when requiredExperience in specialist homelessness services or community services will be highly regarded.
An understanding of the ADF, Defence or veteran community would also be beneficial, but is not essential.The environmentYou will be joining a supportive and collaborative team that is genuinely committed to the people they support.
