Empirical Solutions is seeking an experienced IV&V; Engineer to lead independent verification and validation activities across complex capability programs.
This role is ideal for a Chartered Engineer with strong systems engineering expertise, a focus on governance and assurance, and the ability to foster collaboration across multi-disciplinary teams.
You will provide assurance that critical systems meet technical and functional requirements, while guiding engineering teams and supporting the delivery of mission-ready solutions.
What You'll Be Doing
Oversee and coordinate verification and validation activities in support of acquisition programsEnsure test and evaluation objectives are met through structured assurance processesDevelop, manage, and maintain engineering documentation suitesProvide formal engineering advice across contracts and technical activitiesManage and update technical risk registers, implementing mitigation strategies as requiredSupport and mentor engineering team members, fostering professional developmentReview contractor deliverables and provide engineering feedback to ensure compliance and quality outcomesOrganise and facilitate engineering workshops, reviews, and collaborative forumsEnsure compliance with organisational quality management systems and engineering processesContribute to governance, oversight, and decision-making activities as directed by senior engineering leaders
What We're Looking For

Chartered Skilled Engineer status (Engineers Australia or equivalent),



or eligibility to attain chartered statusTertiary qualifications in Systems Engineering (or equivalent professional experience)Knowledge of structured capability acquisition processes and systems engineering frameworksDemonstrated experience in engineering leadership, governance, and assuranceStrong interpersonal and communication skills, with proven ability to work collaboratively with stakeholdersFamiliarity with structured contracting frameworks (e.g., ASDEFCON)
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
You'll be highly regarded if you also bring:
Prior experience in Defence, government, or other complex capability projectsUnderstanding of technical, logistical, and operational requirements in capability deliveryExperience managing cross-functional engineering teams across diverse technical domains
