We provide support and assistance to NDIS participants who live in group homes, shared supported accommodation or Supported Independent Living homes (SIL), particip... homes and within the community in accordance with the scope of the Disability Act **** and other relevant legislation and guidelines.
The Residential Care officer ensures that the individual needs of our participants are met, specifically in the areas of personal care, social, emotional, maximising the living, social and recreational skills of our participants.

Task & responsibilities Main Tasks: As a Residential care officer,



you will provide personal care and person-centred supports to participants with a disability in our group homes and undertake everyday activities such as assisting with personal hygiene whilst fostering independent living skills.
As a Residential care officer, you will empower participants by assisting them to make choices that will lead to achievement of their individual goals.
Provide high quality and consistent care and support in accordance with the participant's care plans to those living within a Group Home or Shared Disability Accommodation.
Performing home based tasks such as food preparation, cooking, and housework.
Respecting participants as individuals and supporting them to maintain their purpose in life, while offering choice range and personal control over all choices.
Providing care in accordance with individual support plans to people living in our group homes in Newcastle and Maitland.
The main task mainly includes but not limited to: Providing care and supervision for children or disabled persons in group housing or in the NDIS participants' residence, assessing participants' needs and planning, developing and implementing educational, training and support programs interviewing clients and assessing the nature and extent of difficulties monitoring and reporting on the progress of participants referring participants to agencies that can provide additional help assessing Supported independent living and group home participants need and resources for health, welfare, housing, employment, training and other facilities and services liaising with other NDIS providers, community groups, welfare agencies,



government bodies and private businesses about community issues and promoting awareness of community resources and services supporting families and providing education and care for children and disabled persons in adult service units, group housing and government institutions assisting young people to solve social, emotional and financial problems preparing submissions for funding and resources, and reports to government bodies and other agencies RESPONSIBILITIES: Assisting with Daily Living: This includes tasks like personal care (bathing, dressing, toileting), meal preparation, and medication management.
Providing Emotional Support: Offering a listening ear, encouragement, and a safe space for our participants in our group homes to express their feelings and needs.
Promoting Independence: Helping our group home participants develop life skills like budgeting, shopping, and cooking to foster independence and self-sufficiency.
Organizing Activities: Planning and facilitating social, recreational, and educational activities to enhance participants' well-being and engagement.
Ensuring Safety and Security: Monitoring the environment, implementing safety protocols, and responding to emergencies.
Developing Support Plans: In collaboration with the group home team leader or supervisor, you will be creating individualized plans that outline goals, strategies, and interventions to address identified needs.
Monitoring Progress: working with your team leader, regularly track participants' progress, documenting any changes or concerns, and adjusting support plans as needed.
Working with Families: Liaising with families to provide updates, gather information, and involve them in the care process.
Collaborating with Professionals: Working with healthcare professionals such as our registered nurse, social workers, and other relevant agencies to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care.
Maintaining Records: Keeping accurate and up-to-date records of participants care, progress, and any incidents.
