We are looking for a self-motivated, experienced, and passionate Excavator Operator to work as a Piling Barge Operator to assist with our expanding workload!
The position...Marine Pile Installation and waterside operations utilising excavators is fundamental to this role, along with maintaining the vessels and piling barge to ensure safe, effective and effective operations.Most commonly the piles you will be installing will be steel pipe from 273mm to 457mm to 12.0m(l) with a HDPE pile sleeve however they vary from job to job.
These piles could be "spliced" to increase their overall length to 24.0m(l).
Other style of piles could include timber piles, spun concrete piles and cast in-situ concrete piles.You don't have to have specific piling experience, we can teach you BUT to be successful in this role you must be a competent excavator operator capable of operating 3.5t to 15t machines with auger attachments.
Hammer & vibro hammer attachments are also used from time to time.When not installing piles, you will become part of the Installation Crew, installing the pontoons, gangways and concrete abutment blocks.




You may also be required to travel around SEQ or interstate from time to time to complete work commitments.Candidates must have a minimum of 3 years of excavator operating experience and preference will be given to those who can demonstrate the ability to weld steel as required to splice piles.Take charge of and operate vessels, specifically relating to piling work with a focus on workplace health and safety guidelinesInstallation of piles for marina projects predominately in SEQ and from time to time further afield including interstatePiles will consist of spun concrete, steel tube, timber and cast in-situ concrete PVCLiaise with contractors and GCMarine management to co-ordinate onsite, relocation activitiesYou must have and be / have...Competent in operating an Excavator as this is a requirement for all piling workAbility to read plans, and complete set-outs using tapes to determine accurate pile & abutment locationsMechanical minded for maintenance and minor repair workCurrent Drivers LicenseEnthusiasm, experience, and confidence.Confidence in your ability to be part of a two-person crew, to move work boats and barges within the busy waterways from location to locationFirst-rate communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at varying levelsSelf-motivated with an excellent interpersonal and professional skillsNot essential to the role but could be beneficial...Having a Coxswain ticket or higher is a bonus but not a necessity as it would be beneficial for you to operate vessels of various sizes whilst "pushing" our piling barges to site and then maneuver them into position for piling work.
