Yaama Civil and Constructions Pty Ltd is seeking a skilled and experienced Excavator Operator to join our growing team in Newcastle, NSW.
As an Excavator Operator, you will play a crucial role in our construction projects, utilising your expertise to operate and maintain excavation equipment effectively and safely.
What you'll be doing
Bulk excavation, detail excavation, filling of trenches and ensuring compaction.
Adhering to levels and required set out to complete works on tier 2 sites.
Operate a range of excavation equipment, including hydraulic excavators, to complete a variety of tasks such as site preparation, trenching, and land clearing
Ensure the efficient and safe operation of excavation equipment, adhering to all relevant safety guidelines and regulations
Perform routine maintenance and inspections on assigned equipment to maintain optimal performance and lifespan
Work closely with the construction team to understand project requirements and execute tasks in a timely and coordinated manner
Contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting secure practices and continuous improvement
What we're looking for
Significant experience (3+ years) as an Excavator Operator in the construction industry




Proficient in the operation of hydraulic excavators and other heavy equipment
Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills to address equipment and site challenges
Commitment to safety and a track record of safe work practices
Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with the construction team
Valid driver's licence and appropriate heavy vehicle licences/certifications
