Are you an experienced WHS professional with a background in fleet, heavy vehicles, mobile plant or high-risk operational environments?
We're partnering with a major organisation seeking a WHS Officer – Fleet & Energy to drive safety across a large and diverse fleet operation.
This is an opportunity to move beyond compliance and play a key role in embedding safety throughout the entire fleet asset lifecycle—from procurement and commissioning through to maintenance, operation and disposal.
If you enjoy working closely with operational teams and influencing real safety outcomes, this role offers genuine impact.The OpportunityAs the dedicated WHS specialist supporting Fleet & Energy operations, you'll work alongside fleet managers, engineers, workshop teams and operational leaders to develop practical safety systems, improve risk management and support the introduction of new technologies including electric vehicles.
You'll lead the development of Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS), Protected Work Procedures, risk assessments and safety frameworks while providing expert advice across fleet operations, workshops, heavy vehicles and mobile plant.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide specialist WHS advice across fleet operations, workshops and heavy vehiclesDevelop and maintain SWMS, Safe Work Procedures, JSAs and operational risk assessmentsSupport procurement, commissioning and safety-in-design for new fleet assetsLead incident investigations and implement effective corrective actionsConduct workplace inspections,
audits and critical risk reviewsPartner with frontline operational teams to improve safety performanceSupport contractor safety management and compliance activitiesAssist with fleet electrification and emerging vehicle technologiesDevelop practical safety documentation and governance frameworksDrive continuous improvement across high-risk operational environmentsAbout YouYou'll be an experienced WHS professional who enjoys working directly with operational teams and solving practical safety challenges.
You'll ideally bring:Tertiary qualifications in Work Health & Safety or a related disciplineExperience in fleet, transport, heavy vehicles, construction, utilities, mining or similar high-risk environmentsStrong knowledge of SWMS, Safe Work Procedures, JSAs and risk assessmentsExperience leading incident investigations and implementing corrective actionsExcellent stakeholder engagement and communication skillsAbility to influence operational teams and drive a proactive safety cultureHighly regardedHeavy vehicle or mobile plant experienceWorkshop or maintenance environmentsFleet asset managementChain of Responsibility knowledgeElectric vehicle safetyTrade background (mechanical, automotive, electrical or engineering)ICAM or ISO ***** experienceWhy Apply?
