Operating for over 40 years, we are dedicated to putting our workers first, providing a safe work environment with job security.Experiencing steady growth, we are looking for an experienced Work Health and Safety Officer to join our team situated in our Brisbane Office.The Work Health and Safety (WHS) Officer is responsible for supporting and promoting a safe and compliant workplace across all company operations.
The role ensures compliance with applicable Work Health and Safety legislation, Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL), environmental obligations, and company policies and proceduresDuties and Responsibilities:Maintain and continuously improve the company's WHS Management System, safety policies, procedures and secure work method statementsMonitor compliance with WH&S; Legislation, HVNL, Dangerous goods, environment and RAS Codes of PracticeConduct workplace inspections and safety audits of depots, workshops, warehouses and transport operationsAssist with the investigation of workplace incidents, injuries, vehicle incidents,



near misses and property damage events along with root cause and contributing factors analysisCoordinate workers' compensation return-to-work programs/ injury management plansConduct scheduled and unscheduled workplace inspectionsAssist with external auditsParticipate in safety committee meetings, assist with the facilitation of toolbox talks and safety meetingsPrepare monthly safety performance reportsQualifications & Experience:Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (minimum)At least 3 years WHS experience in transport, logistics or heavy vehicle operationsStrong understanding of Australian WHS legislationReturn to Work Coordinator Certification (or willing to obtain)Understanding of Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL)Experience conducting incident investigations and risk assessmentsStrong administrative and record management skillsCurrent Drivers LicenceStrong knowledge of workplace health and safety systemsUnderstanding of Chain of Responsibility obligationsRisk assessment and hazard management expertiseAudit and compliance management experienceExcellent written and verbal communication skillsProficiency in electronic record keeping and safety management systemsCompetence in Microsoft Office and online compliance platformsAbility to build positive working relationships across all levels of the organisationIf you are an experience WHS Officer who would like the opportunity to make a difference, this role is for you.
