Heliflite, a leading Australasian helicopter distributor for over 50 years seeks a highly motivated and experienced Finance Manager to join our hardworking passionate team.Position SummaryWe're seeking an experienced Finance Manager to oversee the financial operations of our business.
This role is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting, providing strategic financial insights to support business growth, managing budgets and forecasts, and maintaining robust financial controls.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, commercially minded, and highly proficient in Xero.
The role is part time, 4 days per week, and offers flexibility to agree on the hours and days worked.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare monthly financial reports and financial performance dashboard to support business decision-makingAnalyse financial performance and provide recommendations to management to inform business planning, operational efficiency and growthMonitor cash flow, budgets, and financial forecasts to support effective financial managementPrepare and lodge BAS, GST, payroll tax, and other statutory obligationsCoordinate and liaise with external accountants, including assisting in preparing annual financial reports and tax returnsThrough Xero, reconcile accounts, manage accounts payable/receivable and identify and deliver on process improvements and automationManage fortnightly payroll, ensuring accuracy,
timeliness and compliance with regulatory requirementsEnsure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirementsDevelop and maintain effective financial controls, policies, and proceduresSupport and mentor finance team members as appropriateBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.CPA or CA qualification preferredMinimum 5 years' experience in a Finance Manager, Senior Accountant, or similar role.Well-developed understanding of Australian accounting standards and tax requirementsStrong analytical and financial reporting skills with attention to detailEffective communication skills, strong organisational skills and an ability to work independently and as part of a teamKnowledge of payroll/HR related processesExperience managing or mentoring staffPersonal AttributesHighly organised and self-motivated and able to manage multiple prioritiesCommercially focused with strong business acumen, problem solving skills and decision making capabilitiesCollaborative team player with a proactive and professional approachWhat We OfferCompetitive salary based on experienceOpportunity to play a key role in a well-established and growing businessSupportive and collaborative work environmentFlexible working arrangements upon mutual agreement
