This hands on role would suit someone with a trade or maintenance background who likes interacting with people and enjoys a varied role that is less physically demanding than your typical role in the building/construction space.Your role will involve assisting with the overall maintenance and improvement of facilities and grounds at St Peter's building effective relationships and delivering positive outcomes for residents.A typical day will involveAnticipating and performing maintenance, repairs and replacements having consideration for high quality efficiency, budget and safetyReporting maintenance needs to the Retirement Village ManagerProviding quality service to all residents and customers with respect, dignity and privacyUsing initiative, accepting responsibility and organising work efficientlyMaintaining appropriate documentation and records relating to reactive and preventative maintenance worksEffectively communicating with residents, customers and significant othersConducting regular internal audits and site inspections to proactively identify maintenance issuesEnsuring contractors provide the required licences,
insurances and compliance documentation before commencing workOrdering maintenance equipment and supplies in line with company policy, procedures and approved budgetTo be successful in this role you'll needA heart and passion for providing high quality care to older peopleA trade qualification or completion of Certificate IV in Maintenance / Building Services is highly desirablePrevious experience in a maintenance, handyman or building services roleHands-on experience with building maintenance proceduresContractor management experienceA strong understanding of workplace health and safety requirements and safe work practicesExcellent time management, prioritisation and problem-solving skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary teamCommitment to respecting the values, customs, preferences and spiritual beliefs of residentsCurrent NSW Driver's LicenseDigital literacy and ability to learn new software platforms – essentialWhat we can offer youNot-for-profit tax benefitsFitness Passport gym benefitLong Service leave after 5 years40+ locations across NSW and QLD if you choose to moveA values-based organisation that welcomes applicants from all faiths and backgroundsWe know you have many choices of employer.
