Job Description
Occupational Therapist – Physical Rehabilitation (Permanent)Location: Wagga Wagga NSW **** | Start: Immediately | Business: Allied Health Practice
This permanent position is ideal for graduate and junior therapists eager to build practical skills, collaborate with an experienced multidisciplinary team, and make a meaningful impact on community health.
You will provide client-centred care across outpatient and community settings, helping people regain independence after injury, illness, or surgery.
You Will Do
Assessment & Planning: Conduct comprehensive assessments of physical function, activities of daily living, cognitive-perceptual skills, and environmental barriers to develop individualized intervention plans.
Therapy Delivery: Deliver evidence-based interventions including therapeutic exercise, functional retraining, splinting, assistive technology recommendation, and home modification advice.
Goal Setting: Collaborate with clients and families to set realistic, measurable goals and review progress regularly.
Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Liaise with physiotherapists, speech pathologists, GPs, and other health professionals to coordinate care and optimise outcomes.
Documentation & Compliance: Maintain accurate clinical records, outcome measures, and adhere to local policies, privacy standards, and funding requirements.
Education & Prevention: Provide education to clients, carers, and community groups on injury prevention,
ergonomics, and adaptive strategies.
Who We're Looking For
Occupational Therapy qualification recognised in Australia and AHPRA registration or eligibility.
Recent graduates and early career therapists with a strong interest in physical rehabilitation are encouraged to apply.
Demonstrated clinical reasoning, excellent communication skills, and a compassionate, client-centred approach.
Ability to work independently and within a team, with positive time management and organisational skills.
Current NSW driver's licence and willingness to travel locally for community visits.
