Electrical and Instrumentation Commissioning TechnicianWe are seeking a licensed Electrician with instrumentation experience to join our commissioning team on water and wastewater infrastructure projects across Sydney.This is a hands-on commissioning role, working directly with Electrical and Process Engineers during FAT, SAT, dry and wet commissioning phases.
The role suits someone who enjoys fault-finding, testing, working from drawings and specifications, and being involved in bringing assets into operation.The successful candidate does not need prior detailed knowledge of the Sydney Water commissioning framework, but must be genuinely interested in learning and working within structured commissioning processes.Job DescriptionKey ResponsibilitiesElectrical and instrumentation commissioning on water and wastewater sitesLoop checking, point-to-point testing, IO verification and fault findingWorking closely with Electrical and Process Engineers during commissioning activitiesSupporting FATs, SATs, dry and wet commissioningReviewing commissioning plans,
ITPs and technical documentationRed-lining drawings and assisting with defect resolutionSupporting transition of assets into operation and handover activitiesEssential RequirementsCurrent NSW Electrical LicenceExperience with instrumentation and control systems, including:4–20 mA loopsField instruments (level, flow, pressure, analysers)MCCs, VSDs and control panelsAbility to read and interpret electrical schematics, loop diagrams and P&IDsStrong; fault-finding and commissioning mindsetGood communication skills and ability to work directly with engineers and site teamsDesirable (Not Mandatory)Experience on Sydney Water or similar utility projectsExposure to PLC and SCADA systemsExperience working to commissioning plans, ITPs and project specificationsAdditional InformationRole is site-based across Sydney / Greater SydneyFull-time or contract engagement availableLong-term opportunities for the right candidate
