Our client is a Fire Services Contractor based in Northwest Sydney.
They are growing rapidly and currently seeking an experienced Fire Services Designer to join their team.
They specialize in the design, installation and maintenance of fire protection systems for all types of buildings.
They provide services for Commercial, Residential, Industrial and Special Use Buildings and Complexes.
Some of the sectors they work with are Strata, Government, Healthcare, Transport, Hospitality, Education, Commercial, Real Estate, etc.
Responsibilities
System Design: Design fire protection systems, including sprinklers, hydrants, smoke detection, alarms, and more, using industry-standard software like AutoCAD, REVIT, HYENA and 3DBIM.
Project Coordination: Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate fire safety systems into building designs.
Coordinate with project managers to ensure designs are delivered on time and meet client specifications.
Compliance and Documentation: Ensure all designs comply with Australian standards, codes (e.g., AS****, BCA), and client requirements.
Prepare and maintain detailed technical documentation, reports, and calculations.
Client Interaction: Communicate with clients to understand their fire protection needs and provide expert advice on solutions.
Present design concepts and address inquiries throughout the project lifecycle.
Quality Assurance:
Conduct quality checks to ensure all systems are designed and implemented correctly and in adherence to safety standards.
Requirements and Skills
Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Building Services Engineering or related discipline.
Experience: 5+ years of experience designing and engineering fire protection systems, including sprinklers, hydrants, and smoke detection systems.
Software Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD, REVIT, HYENA, 3DBIM, Excel and other industry-standard design software.
Knowledge: A strong understanding of Australian codes and standards (e.g., AS****, BCA) and fire protection engineering principles.
Client-Facing Experience: Excellent communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to interact with clients and project stakeholders.
Certifications: FPAS accreditation, RBP, or Fire Safety Designer qualifications are preferred.
Additional Skills: Strong attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to work both independently and within a team.
