About Us
At Family Centered Support Services, we provide a range of services to children, young people, and families, including respite care, in-home support, and residential out-of-home care.
We believe children belong with their families whenever it is safe and possible, and we work closely with the Department of Child Safety and the families to address the root causes of challenging behaviours and support positive change.
About the Role
As a Team Member, you'll play a vital role in supporting Children and Young People living in Residential Out-of-Home Care at our therapeutic, rural properties, where we focus on a technology-reduced model of care.
Your main responsibilities will include engaging with and supporting Children and Young People who exhibit challenging behaviors, helping them achieve their social, educational, cultural, and emotional goals.
You'll also oversee their daily care.
Our mission is to equip Children and Young People with new coping strategies and pro-social behaviors to help them transition to a forever home.
Daily tasks may include:
Providing hands-on support in teaching life skills to our Young People, such as cooking, cleaning, budgeting, completing homework, personal care, booking and attending appointments, participating in sports, and engaging in schoolingDeveloping support documentation,



including Positive Behaviour Support Plans and progress reportsAssessing and supporting the developmental progress of our Young PeopleLiaising with and reporting to stakeholders to share information, contribute to planning, and ensure desired outcomes are achievedCreating activity plans and facilitating community engagement for the Young PersonSafely supporting behaviours using Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) techniques

Essential Requirements
Current Australian Driver's Licence (must be Open or P2)Minimum Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention or equivalent (or actively working towards it)Availability for shift work (24-hour model), including weekdays, weekends, and sleepovers as scheduledApproved Licensed Care Service (LSC)

Must be available to attend 8 days of mandatory paid training delivered across 2 weeks in Brisbane prior to commencement.
