This is a senior leadership role for an experienced estimating qualified who enjoys both strategic leadership and hands-on delivery.Leading a team of three estimators, you will oversee the full estimating function across head contract tenders, including:Lump sum construct-only tendersDesign & Construct submissionsNegotiated opportunities and early contractor involvement (where applicable)Working closely with ourPre-Construction Manager, who leads non-price submission strategy, you will be responsible for ensuring pricing excellence, commercial rigour, and risk-managed tender outcomes.This is not a purely managerial position.
We are looking for someone who remains deeply engaged in the detail-reviewing methodology, interrogating risk, validating assumptions, and contributing directly to key project estimates.Key ResponsibilitiesLead, mentor, and develop the estimating teamPrepare and review detailed cost plans, estimates, and tender submissionsDrive pricing strategy and ensure competitive, commercially sound bidsReview drawings, specifications, consultant documentation, and contract conditionsIdentify pricing risks, procurement opportunities, and value engineering initiativesMaintain and continuously improve estimating systems, cost databases, rates, templates,



and tender workflowsBuild and strengthen subcontractor and supplier relationshipsCollaborate with operations, project delivery, consultants, and clients during bid developmentProvide quality assurance across all tender submissionsSupport strategic growth through accurate and compelling tender outcomesAbout YouYou are a commercially astute estimating leader with strong technical construction knowledge and a proactive approach to winning work.You will ideally bring:Extensive estimating experience in commercial construction, fitout, refurbishment, or related sectorsExperience across bothnew build construction and interiorsPrevious leadership experience managing estimators or tender teamsStrong understanding of construction methodologies, pricing structures, subcontractor procurement, and delivery riskExperience with head contract tendering, including D&C; procurementKnowledge of project scheduling, site operations, contract management, and consultant/client engagementStrong attention to detail and commercial judgementRelevant tertiary qualifications and/or trade background (highly regarded)
