Hotel Marvell is seeking an experienced Housekeeping Supervisor to join our team in Byron Bay, NSW.
This is a full-time position based at our property, where you will play a crucial leadership role in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, organisation and guest satisfaction.
As Housekeeping Supervisor, you will oversee daily operations of our housekeeping department, ensuring our guests enjoy immaculate accommodation and facilities throughout their stay.
This role is essential to our commitment to delivering exceptional hospitality experiences and maintaining our reputation for excellence.
Key responsibilities
Supervise and manage the housekeeping team, including scheduling, training and performance management of staff members
Ensure all guest rooms and public areas are cleaned to the highest standards and inspected for quality assurance
Conduct daily briefings and inspections with housekeeping staff to communicate priorities and maintain consistency
Monitor inventory levels of cleaning supplies and equipment, ordering stock as needed to maintain operational efficiency
Respond promptly to guest requests and complaints regarding housekeeping services, resolving issues professionally and courteously
Maintain detailed records of room inspections, staff performance and maintenance issues requiring attention
Coordinate with other departments, particularly front office and maintenance, to ensure seamless guest experiences
Implement and enforce health and safety protocols, including proper use of cleaning chemicals and equipment
Train new housekeeping staff on company standards, procedures and best practices
Report to management on departmental performance, staffing needs and areas for improvement
What we're looking for
Proven experience as a Housekeeping Supervisor or similar supervisory role within a hospitality setting, preferably in a hotel or resort environment
Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff




Excellent organisational and time management abilities to coordinate multiple tasks and priorities
Thorough knowledge of housekeeping operations, cleaning standards and hospitality procedures
Attention to detail with high standards of cleanliness and presentation
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to liaise effectively with guests and staff
Problem-solving capabilities and the ability to handle guest concerns with professionalism and empathy
Physical fitness and capability to perform housekeeping duties when required
Knowledge of health and safety regulations and cleaning product safety
Relevant housekeeping qualifications or certification is advantageous
