Appletree Family Practice – Charlestown NSWHelp create exceptional patient experiences at one of the Hunter region's most established GP-owned practices.We are seeking a friendly, organised and customer-focused Medical Receptionist to join our well-established, accredited, GP-owned general practice in Charlestown.This full-time opportunity has arisen due to maternity leave.

That's why we invest in creating a workplace where people feel valued, supported and empowered to build long, rewarding careers.About the RoleAs a Medical Receptionist, you will be an integral member of our administration team and one of the first people our patients meet.
Your ability to make every patient feel welcomed,
respected and supported while confidently managing multiple competing priorities will be key to your success.This is a fast-paced and varied role that requires exceptional organisational and multitasking skills, excellent attention to detail, and a calm, compassionate approach.
You will enjoy juggling competing priorities, thinking on your feet and working collaboratively to ensure every patient receives a positive experience from the moment they contact our practice.Key ResponsibilitiesWelcoming patients and providing exceptional customer service in person and over the phoneManaging appointment bookings, scheduling, recalls and rescheduling appointmentsAnswering a busy multi-line telephone system and responding to electronic enquiriesProcessing patient billing, Medicare claims, EFTPOS payments and banking proceduresManaging patient registrations and maintaining accurate electronic medical recordsScanning, filing and processing incoming correspondence and clinical documentationLiaising professionally with doctors, nurses, allied health providers and external organisationsSupporting the day-to-day administrative operations of the practiceContributing to a positive, cooperative and patient-centred workplace cultureAbout YouTo be successful in this role, you will ideally have:Previous experience in medical reception or a busy customer service environmentGeneral practice experience (highly regarded but not essential)Exceptional organisational and multitasking skills, with the ability to confidently prioritise competing demands while maintaining accuracy and attention to detailA warm, compassionate and empathetic approach that helps patients feel welcomed, supported and respectedA genuine enjoyment of working in a busy, fast-paced environment where no two days are the sameExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to remain calm,
