We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic WHS Advisor to join our team.
In this role, you will play a key part in promoting and maintaining a protected and healthy work environment for employees, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
You will collaborate closely with the WHS team and other departments to ensure compliance with WHS regulations and implement effective safety practices.
This role comes with a tool of trade vehicle, mobile phone, and Surface Pro.
You will:
Assist in conducting regular workplace inspections to identify hazards, assess risks, and recommend appropriate control measures.
Collaborate with the WHS team to ensure safety policies, procedures, and programs align with legal requirements and industry best practices.
Support the development and delivery of WHS training programs for employees to enhance their awareness and understanding of safety protocols.
Investigate and report workplace incidents, accidents, and near-misses to identify root causes and recommending corrective actions to prevent re-occurrence.
Participate in the development and maintenance of emergency response plans and procedures, ensuring preparedness for potential emergencies or disasters.
Keep up to date with WHS legislation, regulations, and industry developments to ensure organisational compliance.
Provide guidance and support to employees on WHS-related matters, addressing their concerns and promoting a proactive safety culture.
Collaborate with external stakeholders, such as regulatory bodies to ensure adherence to applicable WHS standards.
The Person
A minimum certificate 4 in Workplace Health and Safety.
Must hold General Construction Induction Card (White Card).
Knowledge of WHS legislation, regulations, and best practices.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify hazards and assess risks effectively.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively engage with employees at all levels of the organisation.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and build positive relationships with various stakeholders.
Proficiency in using MS Office applications and other relevant software for data analysis and reporting.
Willingness to continuously update knowledge and skills through professional development opportunities.
Previous experience or internship in WHS roles will be considered an asset.
Professional certifications or training (e.g Provide First Aid & CPR) will be advantageous.
