Behind that work is a team that keeps our people, systems and finances runningaccurately and efficiently.We're looking for an experienced Business Services Support Officer who takes pride in getting the details right, providing responsive support and keeping essential payroll, finance andadministration functions and processes moving.What you'll be responsible for:Process payroll accurately and in a timely manner, including employee setup, leave, superannuation, reconciliations and Single Touch Payroll reportingRespond to payroll enquiries and support compliance with legislation, Awards, the National Employment Standards and organisational proceduresSupport accounts payable and receivable functions, invoice processing, bank transactions, reconciliations and general ledger activitiesAssist with month-end and year-end financial administration in collaboration with the Finance CoordinatorMaintain accurate business systems, records and information across Employment Hero, SharePoint and other business applicationsCoordinate asset register administration, including acquisitions, transfers, disposals and depreciation schedulesProvide practical administrative support including meetings, minutes, registers, document management and business reportingWorking closely with the Business Services, Human Resources and Finance teams to provide continuity during peak periods and leaveIdentify opportunities to improve systems, processes and service delivery across the organisationWhat sets you apart:You're an experienced business services skilled who enjoys working across payroll,
finance administration and broader corporate support.
You're organised and confident in managing competing priorities without compromising accuracy or service.Ideally you will have:Certificate IV or higher in Business, Accounting, Finance or a related disciplineAt least five years' experience in payroll processing and finance administrationHands-on experience processing payroll in Employment Hero, including payroll reconciliationsExperience with Single Touch Payroll and sound knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, Modern Awards and the National Employment StandardsExperience supporting accounts payable, accounts receivable and financial reconciliationsConfidence using Xero, Dext, Budgetly, ProWorkflow or comparable integrated business systemsAdvanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, with the ability to analyse and present dataStrong organisation, communication and customer service skills, along with a high level of attention to detail, integrity and discretion when handling confidential informationThe ability to work autonomously and stay connected in a hybrid environmentA current Class C Driver's Licence and ability to obtain a National Criminal History CheckWhy SHEPHERD and why this role is differentMeaningful contribution - your work supports the people and systems behind projects that directly impact and strengthen communitiesVariety - a broad role spanning across payroll, finance administration, systems, records and business supportHybrid flexibility - a mix of office-based and remote workTrusted responsibility - you'll be relied on to manage essential processes accurately and proactivelySupportive team - work closely with practical, collaborative people who value reliable service and continuous improvementCompetitive rates - $40 - $45 per hour (based on experience and qualifications) plus Super and additional allowances.
