We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Barista to join the team at GQ Cafe in Pemulwuy, NSW.
This is a full time position where you will be at the heart of our café operations, crafting exceptional coffee drinks and creating memorable experiences for our customers.
As a Barista, you will play a vital role in maintaining the high standards GQ Cafe is known for, ensuring every cup served reflects our commitment to quality and excellence.
Key responsibilities
Prepare and serve high-quality espresso-based beverages, including lattes, cappuccinos, flat whites and specialty coffee drinks
Operate and maintain espresso machines and other café equipment to ensure optimal performance and hygiene standards
Take customer orders and provide knowledgeable recommendations about our coffee range and menu offerings
Maintain a clean and organised work station, adhering to health and safety regulations at all times
Build positive relationships with customers, delivering exceptional service and creating a welcoming atmosphere
Stock and manage supplies behind the counter, monitoring inventory levels
Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient café operations during busy periods
Handle cash and card transactions accurately and securely
Contribute to the café's visual appeal by maintaining product displays and overall presentation standards
What we're looking for
Proven experience as a Barista or in a similar café role, ideally with certification in espresso-based coffee preparation
Robust knowledge of coffee varieties, origins, brewing methods and flavour profiles
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing consistent, high-quality beverages




Outstanding customer service skills with the ability to engage with diverse customers in a friendly and qualified manner
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple orders simultaneously
Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift items up to 20kg regularly
Good communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues
Basic food safety and hygiene knowledge, with willingness to maintain certification where required
Reliability and punctuality, with flexibility to work varied shifts including early mornings, late afternoons and weekends
A passion for coffee and genuine enthusiasm for delivering excellent customer experiences
