DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide high quality specialist plant operation services including road construction and maintenanceMaintain a high standard and consistent approach with the usage of all Council's plantMaintain and service plant and equipment on a daily basis, in accordance with operating proceduresProvide support in the operation of other plant and equipment, as requiredCarry out general labouring duties, as requiredMaintain a daily diary of plant movementsComply with Council operating procedures and site specific work plansAllow reconciliation to materials issued to work sitesRead and interpret basic plans and instructionsUndertake traffic control and implement traffic control plans, as requiredLiaise with workplace representative and employees to continuously improve work practicesContribute to the promotion of the image of the Council and the maximisation of good public relationsLiaise with clients, other Council staff, the public, consultants,



utility and government authorities in the performance of duties including providing and obtaining informationUndertake routine administrative tasks as required by the position e.g. timesheetsAssist senior staff to continuously improve work processes and develop recent practices, as requiredParticipate in training, exercises and response to disaster management and recovery, as requiredUndertake other relevant duties as directed, consistent with skills, competence and training.
QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND LICENCE REQUIREMENTS

Current Qld Class 'HR' driver's licenceQld General Safety Induction (White or Blue Card)Certificate of Competency – Grader.Implement Traffic Management Plans (ITMP) QualificationTraffic Control LicenceOther plant tickets.
ABILITIES, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
Compulsory
Demonstrated experience in the effective operation of a grader (assessed to meet final trim standards) and the use of Machine Guidance Systems within a construction and maintenance infrastructure environmentExperience in the effective operation of heavy vehicles within a maintenance or construction infrastructure environmentSound literacy, numeracy and oral communication skills and ability undertake Learning and Development opportunities as requiredDemonstrated ability to work in a team environment under minimal supervisionSound understanding of and commitment to EEO and WHS principles and practices.
