Based in Wilberforce NSW, in the Hawkesbury region, we specialise in producing high-quality dry and wet pet food, including fresh meat digest and nutritional ingredients essential to pet health and palatability.We're seeking a qualified, skilled Mechanical Fitter (Maintenance) to join Hypro Pet Foods at our site at Wilberforce NSW.
This is a full time permanent role.Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you'll play a vital role in keeping our plant running smoothly and safely.
You'll execute planned maintenance, drive reliability improvements, and use your fault-finding skills to prevent issues before they impact production.What you'll do:Install and maintain mechanical components and systems.Diagnosing faults on pneumatic and hydraulic systems.Perform routine mechanical tests and attend breakdowns.Diagnose and fix problems on a variety of equipment throughout the plant, including motors, gearboxes, baggers, conveyors, extruders and bucket elevators,



drag chains & augers.Proactive approach in reporting and identifying hazards.What you'll bring:Mechanical trade qualification with experience in a high-volume manufacturing or food processing environment (beneficial).
Strong experience in preventative and breakdown maintenanceSkills in diagnostics, fault finding and control systemsWorking alongside production and maintenance team to resolve issuesA proactive attitude, with pride in workmanship and a commitment to safetyTeam player with a positive attitudeKey Responsibilities:Perform preventative and reactive maintenance on production equipmentTroubleshoot and repair mechanical faults to minimise downtimeConduct regular equipment inspections to ensure reliability and safetyAssist with plant upgrades, installations, and modificationsCollaborate with production teams to resolve mechanical issuesMaintain accurate records of maintenance activities and parts usedFollow workplace health and safety standards at all timesComfortable working autonomously or as part of a teamPlease note salary is negotiable and is commensurate with experience and shifts worked.
