Accounts & Payroll Officer
About Us
At Humdrum, we're on a mission to combat boredom and isolation for our community.
We build digital infrastructure to muster, train and deploy support workers who help the eclectic humans in our community live their best lives.
We're as authentic as they come; we value hard work and gumption, and we believe in doing things with potency and a dash of colour.
Our herd keeps growing, and we're after a Unicorn to join our accounts team.
One who can prove that 'finance person' and 'colourful character' aren't mutually exclusive.
The Role
We're after an Accounts & Payroll Officer who can run payroll like clockwork, keep our invoices flowing & ensure the integrity of our numbers.
Think of yourself as the accounts engine room. You'll work closely with our Chartered Accountant and CFO, as well as side by side with our service management crew to keep the whole finance and participant journey running smoothly.
Money stuff doesn't have to be beige around here.
What You'll Be Doing
Processing end-to-end payroll, accurately and within deadline, every time
Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, including weekly super and PAYG, and monthly payroll tax.
Weekly invoicing where accuracy is everything
Handling accounts payable and receivable, including invoices, debtor management, employee reimbursements and supplier payments
Reconciling payroll, bank and general ledger accounts
Keeping our financial records and employee data accurate and up to date
Being the friendly, go-to contact for payroll/invoicing questions from our crew.
General administrative support for finances, plus a keen eye for continuous process improvement
Is This You?
(Preferably, but Character Goes a Long Way)
Previous experience in a payroll and/or accounts administration role, including accounts payable, accounts receivable or general finance admin
A sound understanding of Australian payroll legislation, awards and superannuation requirements
A high level of accuracy and sharp attention to detail across everything you touch
Excellent organisational and time management skills, comfortable juggling competing priorities
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, at ease with people from all walks of life
Comfortable in Xero, Employment Hero or similar, and quick to pick up current systems (our internally built stack included)
NDIS exposure is a strong bonus, but not essential
You'd rather get on with the job than wait for three layers of sign-off, and have a positive & creative perspective on being alive.
What We Offer
A unique, supportive and productive work environment where everyone is encouraged to bring their whole, colourful selves to work.
We also offer:
Highly Competitive salary.
A newly refurbished, bright and colourful office in Freo, filled with equally colourful humans
Genuine flexibility: full time or part time, flexible hours, and a team that gets it when life throws a curveball
A real pathway to grow your career in accounts and finance
Monthly team lunches, weekly pancakes, coffees and other little treats
A chance to make a real difference in the lives of our community
To Apply
Email your CV to ****** and include a response to the following questions:
Why do you want to work for Humdrum?

Bonus question: debits or credits, which side are you loyal to?
