Disability Support Worker
Permanent Part time | ***** Hours per Week

Biala Support Services is a respected registered NDIS provider delivering high-quality Supported Independent Living, Home & Living and community-based supports across the Northern Rivers.
We are seeking
experienced Disability Support Workers
to join our team on a permanent part-time basis.
The position offers a minimum of
15 hours per week
, with the potential to increase to approximately
30 hours per week
, depending on participant needs, availability and service requirements.
About the role
You will provide safe, respectful and person-centred support that promotes each participant's independence, choice, dignity and wellbeing.
Your responsibilities may include:
Supporting participants with daily routines, personal care and household activities.
Assisting with community access, appointments and social participation.
Following support plans, health plans, behaviour support strategies and risk controls.
Providing medication support in accordance with training and procedures.
Completing accurate progress notes and incident documentation.
Communicating professionally with participants, families and the broader support team.
Supporting participants with complex needs while maintaining professional boundaries.
The role may include weekday, weekend, evening, overnight and public holiday shifts.
About you
We are looking for experienced, reliable and values-driven people who are passionate about delivering high-quality disability support.
You will have:
Previous experience working in disability support, SIL, Home & Living or complex care.
A strong understanding of person-centred and rights-based practice.
Experience providing personal care and supporting daily living activities.
Strong communication, documentation and relationship-building skills.
The ability to follow individual support plans and workplace procedures.
Sound judgement and the ability to remain calm in challenging situations.
Reliability and flexibility to work across a range of shifts.
Experience in positive behaviour support, active support, medication assistance or complex support environments will be highly regarded.

Essential requirements
Applicants must hold, or be willing to obtain:
NDIS Worker Screening Check.
Working With Children Check.
Current First Aid and CPR.
Current unrestricted driver licence.
Access to a reliable and comprehensively insured vehicle.
The right to work in Australia.
Required NDIS Commission modules.
Two professional referees, including a current or previous supervisor.
Relevant qualifications in Disability, Individual Support, Community Services or a related field will be highly regarded.
