Kensington, Bunbury or other location by negotiation, Western Australia
The Regional and Fire Management Services Division's Operational Training Unit (OTU) designs, delivers and records operational training to meet the needs of the agency with a strong focus on regional delivery.
The OTU also maintains the department's capacity to offer nationally recognised training, eLearning solutions and accurate training records.
We currently have an opportunity for a Training and Assessment Developer (Vocational Education and Training) to join our team.
Under the general direction of the Senior Training Quality and Compliance Officer:
Develops departmental competency-based training and assessment resources that comply with organisational policies and the Standards for Registered Training Organisations.
Contributes to the planning, development, production and updating of customised training products for the delivery of operational training competencies.
Plans and develops training and assessment materials using instructional design principals appropriate for the delivery strategy identified (including face-to-face, online and blended learning).

Selection Criteria
Knowledge and experience in the development and review of training and assessment resources including mapping of training and assessment to units of competency in Vocational Education and Training (VET context).
Evidence of well-developed interpersonal and communication skills and experience in effective liaison and negotiation to achieve organisational objectives with internal and external stakeholders.
Experience in developing learning and assessment resources including excellent attention to detail to ensure accuracy and consistency across documentation.
Strong understanding of training activities, resources and facilitation techniques that engage and motivate learners and support learner understanding.
Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint) and an understanding of the importance of version control in quality documentation.
