We're looking for a motivated Junior Civil Engineer who is interested in developing a career in construction surveying.
This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career engineer to gain practical, hands-on experience as a
Survey Technician
working alongside experienced Surveyors, Project and construction teams on civil projects valued up to $10 million.
Using industry-leading survey equipment and software, you'll play an important role in supporting the accurate delivery of our projects while developing valuable technical and field-based engineering skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with survey set out and maintaining accurate ground control.
Collect, record, and organise survey data using modern survey equipment and software.
Conduct site measurements and verify construction works against engineering plans.
Assist with preparing as-constructed documentation and survey reports.
Support Project Surveyors with planning survey activities and forecasting upcoming survey requirements.
Work closely with Project Managers, Supervisors, Engineers, and site crews to ensure works are completed accurately and efficiently.
Maintain survey equipment and ensure it is calibrated and ready for use.
Attend site inspections and meetings while contributing to safe and compliant project delivery.
Key Requirements:
A degree (or be nearing completion) in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
White Card (or willingness to obtain).
Current Driver's Licence.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
The ability to interpret engineering drawings and plans.
Good computer skills and the ability to learn new software.
A willingness to work both independently and as part of a team-oriented team.
A positive attitude, strong attention to detail and eagerness to learn.
The following would be advantageous but is not essential:
Experience using Topcon survey equipment, GPS systems, Magnet software, or Civil CAD.
Experience in civil construction, roadworks, or drainage.
Understanding of plant operations, construction methods, and HSEQ requirements.
