Young Academics Early Learning Centre is a leading and reputable provider with more than 50 centres across Recent South Wales.
We are currently seeking an experienced Centre Cook to join our Westmead Service.This position is a part-time role - Monday to Friday between 8:30am - 3pmAbout the RoleAs a Centre Cook at Young Academics, your expertise in the kitchen will assist in creating meaningful learning experiences and environments that reflect best practice and align with our service philosophy.
As a service, compliance and child safety remain our highest priority, and you will be expected to uphold our child-protected practices in all aspects of your role.
You will also collaborate with fellow educators to build strong, respectful partnerships with children, families and the wider community, fostering a supportive environment that enhances children's health and safety, wellbeing, confidence, and lifelong love of learning.ResponsibilitiesImplement and modify (where required) a seasonal menu created by our nutritionistMaintain regular checks in compliance with the NSW Food Standards Code and Health RegulationsAssist staff and families in providing high-quality education and careCollaborate with the staff and families to facilitate learning opportunities relevant to the educational programMaintain professional, supportive and respectful relationships between management, staff,



families and childrenMaintain Mandatory Reporting responsibilities and requirementsAbout YouDemonstrated Cook/Chef experience in the Aged Care or Early Childhood Education and Care sectorAn ACECQA-approved qualification in Early Childhood Education and Care is preferred, but not mandatoryAlternatively, a relevant Commercial Cooks qualificationFood Handlers Basics CertificateValid NSW Employee Working with Children CheckKnowledge of Food Standards Codes,EYLF and NQSCommitment to upholding a Child Safe Organisation and inclusive practicesMaintain Mandatory National Child Safety TrainingChild Safety MattersAt Young Academics, we prioritise children's safety and wellbeing.

You will be required to provide a minimum of two professional referees as part of the recruitment process.

Young Academics uses CCTV in our centres and works closely with the regulatory authorities to report any child safety concerns.
