Your key responsibilities will include:Design and own the end-to-end FDH data architecture using Medallion Architecture (Bronze / Silver / Gold) on Databricks Lakehouse.Architect scalable, high-performance data pipelines using Databricks (Apache Spark) to support financial close cycle processing.Define ingestion patterns for financial data from multiple source systems including policy administration, claims, actuarial, investments, reinsurance, and treasury.Design the GL Code Block integration architecture to produce journal-ready datasets with all required financial dimensions.Design logical and physical data models across all FDH layers covering Claims, Premiums, Commissions, Actuarial & Reserving, Investments, Reinsurance, Taxation, and Treasury.Develop dimensional and fact models for the Finance Consumption Layer (Gold/Datamart) enabling reporting at legal entity, product/LOB, APRA/risk category, and financial statement line levels.Model reference and master data entities including Chart of Accounts mappings, APRA codes, product hierarchies,



and commission rules with full effective-dating.Data Governance & QualityDefine and implement the data governance architecture for the FDH, including metadata management, data lineage, data quality, and stewardship workflows.Design end-to-end column-level data lineage from source system to curated datasets to reports — preserving lineage for historical periods to support audit and restatement.Architect data quality rule frameworks covering completeness, accuracy, validity, timeliness, consistency, and uniqueness for all key financial elements.Ensure architectural alignment with APRA CPS 220, CPS 230, and CPS 234 requirements.Technical Leadership & Stakeholder EngagementServe as the technical authority for all data architecture decisions, guiding data engineers, BI developers, and solution architects.Collaborate with Finance, Actuarial, Risk, Compliance, and Audit stakeholders to translate business and regulatory requirements into robust architectural designs.Produce and maintain architecture artefacts including data architecture blueprints, data flow diagrams, entity-relationship models, and integration specifications.Mentor and guide data engineering teams on Databricks best practices, data modelling standards, and data governance patterns.About you8+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or enterprise data management roles.5+ years of hands‐on experience with big data platforms — Databricks experience is essential.3+ years of experience in financial services, insurance, banking, or a regulated industry with exposure to financial reporting data.Demonstrated experience delivering data architecture for large-scale data transformation programmes in complex, multi-stakeholder environments.Proven track record of designing data platforms that meet regulatory audit, lineage, and traceability requirements.Databricks Lakehouse: Hands‐on architecture and design experience with Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, Databricks Workflows,



and Databricks SQL.Big Data & Spark: Deep expertise in Apache Spark (PySpark) for large‐scale financial data processing.Data Modelling: Expert‐level skills in logical and physical data modelling — Kimball dimensional modelling, Data Vault 2.0, and entity-relationship modelling.Cloud Platforms: Strong experience with Azure, AWS, or GCP cloud‐native data services.Data Governance: Experience with enterprise data governance platforms such as Informatica, Collibra, or Alation.Financial Domain: Understanding of GL accounting, journal entry structures, subledger reconciliation, and financial close processes.Regulatory Reporting: Familiarity with APRA regulatory frameworks (LRS, GRS, CPS standards) and IFRS 17 data requirements.Experience with SAP S/4HANA GL integration.Experience with dbt (data build tool) for transformation layer management.Familiarity with Apache Kafka or event‐driven ingestion architectures.Knowledge of data mesh or data fabric architectural patterns.Databricks Certified Data Engineer Professional or equivalent cloud data certifications.Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical discipline.Databricks Certified Data Engineer Professional or Databricks Certified Associate Developer for Apache Spark.Cloud certifications (Azure Data Engineer Associate, AWS Data Analytics Specialty, or equivalent).
