Join a respected and growing organisation where innovation, quality, and operational excellence are at the heart of everything we do.We are currently seeking an experienced Payroll and Accounts Payable Officer to join our team and support our growing workforce on a part-time basis (24 hours a week).
The OpportunityReporting to the Financial Controller, the Payroll and Accounts Payable Officer will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of weekly payroll, employee onboarding and offboarding administration, and responding to payroll-related enquiries.This role will also ensure compliance with all payroll-related statutory obligations, including Superannuation, Payroll Tax, PAYG, and Long Service Leave requirements.In addition, you will provide administrative support to the Accounts Payable function during non-payroll processing periods, making this a varied and hands‐on role within a collaborative finance team.Key ResponsibilitiesPayrollEnd-to-end processing of weekly payrollEmployee onboarding, offboarding, and payroll record maintenanceInterpretation and application of relevant awards and employment conditionsProcessing and reconciliation of Superannuation,



PAYG, Payroll Tax, and Long Service Leave obligationsManagement of employee terminations, resignations, and final paymentsPayroll reconciliations, including General Ledger reconciliationPreparation and processing of End of Financial Year payroll requirementsResponding to payroll enquiries in a professional and timely mannerMaintaining payroll compliance with current legislation and company policiesAccounts Payable & Administration SupportManagement of finance and supplier-related emailsEntry of Accounts Payable documentation into financial systemsProviding general administrative support to the Finance teamAssisting with continuous improvement initiatives across payroll and finance processesAbout YouYou are a detail-oriented and proactive Payroll professional with a solid understanding of payroll legislation, award interpretation, and payroll compliance.
You thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and enjoy building positive relationships across all levels of an organisation.You take pride in delivering accurate outcomes, maintaining confidentiality,



and continuously seeking opportunities to improve processes and efficiency.Minimum 3 years' experience in a Payroll and Accounts Payable Officer or similar payroll-focused role Experience with payroll systems (Tanda experience highly regarded)Strong experience interpreting modern awards and employment conditionsExperience processing and reconciling Superannuation and PAYGExperience reconciling payroll General Ledger accountsExperience managing employee terminations, resignations, and final paymentsExperience preparing and processing EOFY payroll requirementsExposure to Accounts Payable processes and supplier managementStrong understanding of payroll legislation, compliance requirements, and reporting obligationsIntermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skillsHigh attention to detail and strong analytical skillsExcellent communication and stakeholder management skillsAbility to work independently while contributing effectively within a teamDemonstrated commitment to process improvement and continuous enhancement of systems and proceduresHighly DesirableExperience processing payroll for 150+ employeesPrevious experience within a manufacturing or industrial environmentKnowledge of overtime calculations, shift penalties, and apprenticeship wage structuresExperience working within a blue-collar workforce environmentWhy Join Custom Denning?
