They are seeking skilled Mechanical Techniciansto support our light rail vehicle (LRV) maintenance team during a period of increased workload.Role Tasks & Duties:The role includes, but is not limited to:Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on Light Rail Vehicles.Diagnose and repair mechanical faults in rollingstock systemsSupport vehicle handovers and incident recovery proceduresEnsure compliance with all safety, quality, and operational standardsAssist in on-the-job training and knowledge sharingParticipate in rotating on-call rosters and shift workMaintain a safe, clean, and compliant work environmentCollaborate with operations and asset management teams to meet KPIsRequired Skills,



Experience and Competencies:Certificate III in Mechanical Engineeringor similar mechanical trade qualificationCertificate IV or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (desirable)Minimum 3 years of rollingstock experience (required for Level 5 pay rate)Solid understanding of rail vehicle mechanical systems (Urbos 100 or equivalent preferred)Excellent fault-finding and troubleshooting skillsAbility to work autonomously and within a teamStrong computer literacy, including MS Office suiteEmergency response experience highly regardedWillingness to work rotating shifts and on-call as requiredPre-employment Requirements:All candidates must pass the following:Category 1 Rail Medicalincluding Drug & Alcohol screeningNational Police CheckAustralian Work Rights Check2x Reference ChecksTrade Proficiency AssessmentWhat's On Offer?
