The purpose of this position is to support participants with disabilities to achieve their goals and assist them to live as independently as possible.This role consists of community access and supported independent living.Shift work is essential.Qualifications & experience(Or willing to obtain)Current CPR CertificateCurrent First Aid CertificateCurrent Worker Screening ClearanceCurrent Paid Blue CardCert III in individual support preferred but not necessaryTasks & responsibilitiesProvide support to participants with physical and/or intellectual disabilitiesUnderstand and provide appropriate care to participants with low needs to patients with high needs who demonstrate a range of challenging behaviorsAssisting with activities relating to daily living, community support, and empowermentWork under general guidance from the person seeking support, and their family, within clearly defined guidelinesAssist the client with everyday personal care needsProvide the client with support to do social activities in the communityThis job is for a casual position and you may be required to work days, afternoons, nights and weekends.
