CSI: Scrapyard EditionMaterial Maestros:Handling materials isn't a chore; it's an art formJoin the InnovationWe are looking for a trade-qualified Mechanical Fitter who enjoys building quality equipment, solving mechanical problems and taking pride in producing work to the highest standard.If you are someone who enjoys fitting and assembling mechanical equipment more than standing behind a lathe all day, this could be the role you have been looking for.This is a hands‐on workshop position where your primary focus will be the mechanical assembly, fitting and testing of industrial equipment.You will work from engineering drawings, assemble components to tight tolerances, troubleshoot mechanical issues and help deliver equipment that is used by customers throughout Australia and around the world.Key ResponsibilitiesAssemble, fit, align, and test mechanical components and equipment to meet engineering specifications and drawings and quality standardsInstall bearings, shafts, gearboxes,
motors and drive systemsAlign and test mechanical assemblies to engineering specificationsPerform routine and breakdown maintenance on workshop machinery, tools, and mechanical systemsPerform fault finding and mechanical troubleshooting during assemblyUse precision measuring equipment to achieve accurate tolerancesOperate workshop machinery including mills, drills and lathes for occasional component modification and repairMaintain safe work practices and accurate records while contributing to continuous improvement initiativesIf you are a Mechanical Fitter who enjoys hands‐on work, takes pride in quality craftsmanship and wants to be part of a respected engineering manufacturer, we'd love to hear from you.
You will ideally have:Trade qualification as a Fitter & Turner – Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade (Fitting and Turning) (or equivalent)Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems relevant to manufacturing equipmentAbility to confidently read engineering drawingsStrong experience in mechanical assembly and equipment fittingAbility to work to tight tolerances using precision measuring tools and high attention to detailA team player with a commitment to quality workmanship and safetyUnderstanding of Australian Standards for mechanical safety and machinery operationCurrent High‐Risk Work Licence (e.g., forklift, dogging, rigging) – desirableAt Eriez, you will join a global leader known for innovation, reliability, and world‐class engineering.
