Major industries in the area include Coal Mining, Power Generation, Beef Production, dryland cropping and irrigation such as Lucerne and Cotton.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESUndertake landfill and transfer station site worksPerform labouring duties as requiredOperate various equipment and plant at designated waste sitesCarry out daily vehicle inspections in accordance with the vehicle checklist and report any faults foundMaintain vehicle in accordance with Council proceduresPrepare daily written reports of status of works undertakenCollect recyclables from off-site locationsReport identified weedsRespond to internal and external customer request as requiredParticipate in toolbox and team meetingsCollect commercial waste from premises in accordance with the daily collection program and service specifications as requiredCollect spillage of waste from the road reserve within the allocated collection areaUndertake special collections at designated premises as requiredOperate weighbridgeCollect payments from landfill customersUndertake routine administrative tasks as required by the position e.g. timesheetsAssist senior staff to continuously improve work processes and develop recent practices as requiredParticipate in training, exercises and response to disaster management and recovery as requiredUndertake other relevant duties as directed, consistent with skills, competence and training.QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND LICENCE REQUIREMENTSCompulsoryQueensland 'C' class driver's licenceQueensland Construction White Card or Blue Card (General Safety Induction).
