We're looking for a Chef to join our Benalla Village on a permanent part-time basis, working 30 hours per week.Working independently and reporting to the Village Manager, you'll be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the village kitchen by:Preparing and serving nutritious, home-style lunches and desserts for approximately 52 residents each dayPlanning and preparing meals in line with the village menuMaintaining high standards of food quality, presentation and portion controlManaging stock,



storage and stock rotation to minimise wasteCleaning and sanitising the kitchen and dining areasMaintaining food safety records and ensuring compliance with food safety and WHS requirementsReporting hazards, incidents or equipment faults promptlyBuilding positive relationships with residents and contributing to a warm, welcoming dining experienceSupporting a positive team culture and helping create a community where residents feel valued and connectedWhat's in it for you?

We're looking for someone who enjoys preparing quality meals and takes pride in creating positive dining experiences.You'll ideally have:A Trade Qualification in Commercial CookeryFood Safety Supervisor CertificationPrevious experience in a commercial kitchen or similar environmentA strong understanding of food safety, kitchen compliance and stock managementExcellent organisational and time management skillsThe ability to work independently while contributing to a positive team cultureA compassionate and respectful approach when interacting with older AustraliansA genuine desire to make a positive difference in the lives of our residents
