Our focus is on providing solutions that meet current demands and anticipate future trends — enabling our customers to build into the future with confidence.That's how Porta is built for the future.We are currently seeking an Electrical Technician to join our Maintenance team located at Charmhaven on the Central Coast of NSW.The RoleWorking on state-of-the-art equipment, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating and completing process improvement and installation projects ensuring technical requirements and specifications are being adhered to.
On-going breakdown support and general electrical work will also be required.To be successful in this role you will:Be a qualified and experienced electricianHave a good knowledge of AS**** and be able to demonstrate extensive knowledge in all facets of electrical work and a firm commitment to secure work practiceHave the ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, single-line diagrams,



and PLC I/O drawingsHave experience with fault-finding on industrial control systemsBe competent with three-phase systems, motors, motor starters, VFDs, and protection devicesHave strong understanding of electrical safety and LOTOHave the ability to diagnose and replace sensors, relays, contactors, actuatorsHave basic knowledge of industrial networking (Ethernet/IP, Profinet, DeviceNet, etc.)The following skills/experience are not essential but will be highly regarded in the selection process:Experience with Allen-Bradley / Siemens PLCs (reading ladder, basic troubleshooting)Ability to fault-find using Allen-Bradley Studio **** / RSLogix and Siemens TIA / Simatic Manager for monitoring and basic editingUnderstanding of SCADA / HMI systems, specifically Cimplicity and Wonderware System PlatformFamiliar with VSDs, soft starters, servo drives, motion controlBasic understanding of PID loops and instrumentationExperience with safety circuits (E-stops, light curtains, interlocks, PLe/SIL)This is a full-time permanent position.
To be successful in this role you must be self-motivated and be willing to put in the work needed to complete jobs in a timely manner.
Attention to detail and highest quality workmanship are paramount.As part of the selection process, applicants must be prepared to undergo a pre-employment medical examination which includes functional, audiometric and drug and alcohol testing.
