Lockyer Valley Turf Club (LVTC) is currently seeking an experienced Track Curator with thoroughbred racing and club operations experience.
Reporting to the Operations Manager and Club Executive Committee, the Track Curator will play a central role in shaping the club's racetrack maintenance, contributing to the continued growth, sustainability, and success of the Lockyer Valley Turf ClubPrimary ResponsibilitiesTo implement all day-to-day club racing and training activitiesTo work closely with the Operations Manager, Club Secretary, and committee in day-to-day operationsDevelop and implement maintenance schedules for Thoroughbred horses to prepare them for races.Oversee the maintenance and preparation of racing tracks, ensuring they meet industry standards.Coordinate with the operations team to implement track repairs and improvements.Analyse performance data to make informed decisions about training and track conditions.Ensure compliance with industry regulations and safety standards.Implement racetrack and club facility maintenance and support capital development.Liaising with StakeholdersWorking closely with Racing Queensland and QRICProvide effective support for venue and event management on race days.Build strong internal and external relationships that will continue to drive outstanding outcomes for the club.Comply with the Work Health and Safety Act **** and all club policies and procedures.Selection CriteriaDesired but not essential - proven experience in Thoroughbred training and racetrack maintenanceStrong leadership and team management skillsExcellent organisational and communication abilitiesExtensive hands-on racecourse experience (Tractors, Machinery etc.)Car LicenseSolid experience of asset managementDesired but not essential - Experience with preparation of race daysExperience in leading a team and supervising staffKnowledge and understanding of racing and trainingFor further information regarding the position, please contact Operations Manager - Terry Kirkwood –****** role profile - close COB Friday 21st August ****
