Chouette Cake & Dessert is seeking an experienced and reliable Pastrycook to join our bakery café in Underwood on a full-time basis.Our menu combines contemporary café products with Korean-inspired cakes, flavours, presentation styles and seasonal trends.The successful applicant should have strong pastry-production and cake-finishing skills.
Practical knowledge of Korean-style baking and desserts, or experience producing similar Asian-style products, will be highly regarded.Key responsibilities include:Preparing and producing cakes, pastries and dessertsPreparing cake bases, fillings, creams and other componentsDecorating and finishing products to a consistently high standardFollowing recipes and daily production schedulesMaintaining consistency in taste, appearance and portion sizeChecking ingredient quality and monitoring stock levelsMinimising waste and using ingredients efficientlyMaintaining food-safety,



hygiene and cleaning standardsAssisting with seasonal and Korean-inspired product developmentCoordinating effectively with the bakery and front-of-house teamsThe successful applicant should have:Relevant pastry qualifications or substantial commercial pastry experienceStrong cake-finishing and decorating skillsExperience working in a busy commercial bakery or pastry kitchenThe ability to work independently and meet production deadlinesGood knowledge of food safety and workplace hygieneAn understanding of Korean dessert trends, flavours and presentation stylesReliable availability for early starts, weekends and public holidaysKorean-language ability is highly regarded due to the workplace environment and communication with Korean-speaking team membersThis is a full-time position averaging 40 hours per week.
Working hours will be arranged through a rotating roster and will include early-morning starts, weekends and public holidays.
