Homelessness Crisis WorkerPay: $***** per hour + superLocation: Rockhampton, QLDEmployment Type: Casual / Locum (Immediate Start)Tradewind Australia is partnering with a community-based homelessness service to recruit compassionate and resilient Crisis Support Workers for a men's accommodation program in Rockhampton.
These casual/locum opportunities offer immediate start, with a mix of day, afternoon and sleepover shifts available.This is a hands‐on role supporting men experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness, providing practical, emotional and case management support within a crisis accommodation setting.About the Role:As a Crisis Support Worker, you will provide end-to-end support across the client journey-from intake through to exit.
You'll work closely with clients to stabilise their immediate situation while supporting longer-term pathways into safe, secure housing.This role combines frontline support, case management, and advocacy, with a strong focus on building trust and supporting clients with complex needs including mental health challenges.Adaptable shift options including day, afternoon and sleepover shiftsMeaningful work supporting vulnerable men in the communitySupportive team environment within an established programKey ResponsibilitiesProvide holistic, client‐centred support from intake through to exitDeliver case management focused on housing outcomes and independenceConduct needs and risk assessments,
including safety planningSupport clients to access stable accommodation and relevant servicesAdvocate on behalf of clients with housing providers and external servicesBuild strong relationships with stakeholders and referral networksMaintain accurate and timely case notes and documentationAssist with day‐to‐day operations of the accommodation service as requiredWhat You'll BringEssentialMinimum Certificate III in Community Services or related fieldExperience working with vulnerable populations, including homelessness or mental healthStrong case management and advocacy skillsAbility to engage clients with empathy, respect and professionalismResilience and confidence working in crisis or complex environmentsAvailability for shift work (including sleepovers and weekends)DesirableExperience in crisis accommodation or residential programsUnderstanding of trauma‐informed and strengths‐based practiceKnowledge of local housing and support service systemsCommitment to Child Safety, Inclusion and Equal OpportunityTradewind Australia is committed to the safety, wellbeing and inclusion of all children and vulnerable people.
