Early Childhood Teacher and Educational LeaderTo guide and support a team of educators by ensuring that high quality education and care programs are delivered responsively and inclusively across the service.The Early Childhood Teacher will work closely with the Centre's Educational Leader and Children's Services Manager contributing with the knowledge and expertise aiming to raise educator practice and outcomes for children.Key accountabilities of this position include:Apply knowledge of the National Quality Framework.Apply knowledge of the Early Years Framework to promote children's learning and development.Lead the educator team in the implementation of The Planning Cycle to continuously reflect and improve practice and children's learning outcomes.Recognise risks and non-compliance in the Centre and act to minimize those risk in collaboration with Centre's Educational Leader and Children's Services Manager.Oversee clean, hygiene practices are in place across the Centre environment.Ensure a child safe setting which supports children's wellbeing.Operate in accordance with appropriate legislation including WH&S;, antidiscrimination etc.Operate within the guidelines and service agreements of funding bodies.DUTY STATEMENTStaff Supervision and SupportLead and support educators to understanding of Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) principles and their implementation to improve practices and outcomes.Assist the educators to resolve challenges they meet in the course of their workContribute to the Centre's Centre's SAWD – Self Assessment Working DocumentCollaborate with the Centre's Educational Leader and Children's Services Manager and work alongside the educator team to ensure a quality programs are continuously approved via The Planning Cycle.Effective Service DeliveryPromote sense of belonging and community involvement for families and their children.Plan and facilitate activities based on the children's needs and interests via The Cycle of PlanningLiaise with the Educational Leader and educator team to ensure inclusive practice and service environmentECT ResponsibilitiesDevelop, weekly plans, and implement age appropriate programs for children in care.Provide programs and activities that reflect the children's learning and growth.Provide developmental progress reports as requiredMaintain ongoing communication with educators, parents and caregivers including other services when required.Ensure children's safety and wellbeing.Assist families with the children's transitions proving families with guidance and support when required.Develop positive channels of communication to ensure the smooth running of the service amongst all educators.Support a culture of reflective practiceApply educator: child ratios to ensure regulatory requirements; while monitoring and advising on the use of staffing to support the services financial sustainability.Contribute to the regular review and update of the Centre's SAWD – Self Assessment Working DocumentAttend and contribute Early Childhood expertise at staff meetingsAttend regular supervision sessionsEnsure that children's programs are providedEnsure children's progress is monitored and recordedEnsure regular communication across the educator team - daily and at least fortnightly to guide practice via The Cycle of Planning.Contribute to reports e.g. to funding bodies, other partners and management as requiredCommunity language would be an advantageUnderstanding of community engagementA Bachelor of Early Childhood Teaching, or Working TowardsA current First Aid Certificate, Anaphylaxis and AsthmaA sound Knowledge of Early Years Learning FrameworkExcellent Written and verbal communication skillsA strong understanding of policies, procedures and regulationsStrong understanding of child protection
